Technology Integration Special Classroom Visual Supports utilizing TeachTown Software and
SCERTS team
GOAL STATEMENT Professional development to enhance understanding of students with pervasive developmental deficits as
well as implementing technology integrated equipment/tools to increase self-regulation management,
active engagement, expressive and receptive language, and meta cognition. Education of professionals
who interact with this population is vital to student generalization of skills and acceptance as a part of the
school community

Multi-Sensory equipment and tools are necessary to support education of
students with pervasive deficits. They enable students to attend to task for
longer periods of time and assist with behavioral symptoms of sensory
delay. Data will be collected by the teachers and TeachTown software to
address; student task attention, knowledge acquisition and application.
Natural environment tracking will be employed to measure behavior.

Interventions
Visual supports and tools, including but not limited to daily schedules,
first/then boards, communication books, TeachTown character puppets
and worksheets, are necessary to support education of students with
pervasive developmental deficits (PDD). They enable students to attend to
task for longer periods of time and assist with behavioral symptoms of
PDD. Social skills curriculum is necessary for students to learn appropriate
skills and then generalize those skills across multiple settings.
IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

Professional Development funds will provide training to teachers, parents,
administrators and general staff (teachers, instructional assistants, office
staff) in the area of Autism, before and after school in 2014-2015 school
years. Trainings will include training of administrative leaders, training of
school staff by ADE behavior and autism consultants, Strategies for
Teaching based on the SCERTS model
