One in four people in Nepal lives below the national poverty line that is just 50 cents per day. People that live under the poverty line do not have enough money to meet their basic needs like food, clothing and shelter.
Those who live in mountainous, more rural areas are the most likely to suffer from poverty and hunger that affects the country.
The 2016 Global Hunger Index (GHI) found that 7.8 percent of Nepal’s population was undernourished. Nepal is ranked 72 out of 118 countries in the GHI, and the report rates Nepal’s hunger at 21.9, which falls into the category of serious. However, these numbers are lower than they have been in past years since 2000, GHI ranked Nepal’s hunger at 43.1.
Agriculture provides work to 68 percent of Nepal’s population and accounts for 34 percent of the country’s GDP, yet food is in low supply for Nepali citizens.

LAUNCH PLAN
8. The Problem We Want to Tackle
• One in four people in Nepal lives below the national poverty line that is just
50 cents per day. People that live under the poverty line do not have enough
money to meet their basic needs like food, clothing and shelter.
•Those who live in mountainous, more rural areas are the most likely to suffer from
poverty and hunger that affects the country.
•The 2016 Global Hunger Index (GHI) found that 7.8 percent of Nepal’s population
was undernourished. Nepal is ranked 72 out of 118 countries in the GHI, and the
report rates Nepal’s hunger at 21.9, which falls into the category of serious.
However, these numbers are lower than they have been in past years since 2000,
GHI ranked Nepal’s hunger at 43.1.
•Agriculture provides work to 68 percent of Nepal’s population and accounts for 34
percent of the country’s GDP, yet food is in low supply for Nepali citizens.
9. The Solution We Came Up With
•Freedom Of selection at cheaper price.
Almost all the goods of daily and regular needs of consumers are sold
at supermarkets, such as – goods of grocery, goods of cosmetics,
vegetables, fruits, clothes, readymade garments, sports goods,
stationery, etc.
•Maintained quality in the products.
•Easy find of goods and services that we need
10. Why This Solution is Unique
1. Social supermarket idea is to reduce food waste whilst destigmatising
the issue of food poverty for individuals and families who are struggling to
make ends meet.
2. Stores also receives generous donations from local people who have
brought homemade jams and chutneys, and locally grown fruit and vegetables
grown on allotments nearby.
11. Our Plan to Become Financially Sustainable
1. Digital marketing , ad campaign will create revenue
multiple revenue stream .
2. Involvement of government and non-government
donation agency help build trust and bring in local sponsership.
3. Sponsorship will help us to build more centers everywhere
Government can subside our organization and ensure the security.
12. Why We’re the Best People to Tackle It
We have enough skills to organize such centers:
Economy, business, marketing and finance knowledges
Communication skills Experience teaching and study
Great experience with self-study opportunities
Young age (we will represent modern advance youth)
13. Our Plan to Scale
We will open few centers in large towns of Kathmandu.

about extension existing centers
