2. Software and Online Tools
0 Throughout the construction of my research, planning
and evaluation stages in the creation of my product I
had to ensure that I documented all of my research
properly, using a verity of software and online tools
enabled me to do this.
3. Blogger
0 Blogger was the main source for documenting my
research and planning elements. Almost like a diary, I
was able to plan my very first ideas for my music
video to posting up the finished product. On blogger I
stored information on my chosen target audience and
genre of my upcoming product, to my first editing task
on premiere pro. Blogger enabled me to upload videos
and pictures giving people a bigger insight of the
process of creating my product.
4. Wikipedia
0 I used this website quite a lot in the planning
processes of my product. It enabled me to gain a
better understanding of my chosen genre for my
music video and also my target audience.
5. YouTube0 YouTube was a big part of my planning and research stages
as I was able to search for videos that could give me
inspiration on a storyline as well as helping me decide on a
song choice to use for my music video. I also used YouTube
to store all of my video’s made including my audience
feedback and my finalised product. To do this I created a
YouTube channel and was able to search pretty much
anything to help me with my product for example:
inspirational music videos, conventions used in indie
music videos, indie artists, shots and camera angles. This
networking site helped me considerably in these stages.
6. Prezi
0 Prezi is a fun way to make a presentation, it presents
your work in a aesthetically pleasing format, I used
prezi as an alternative to PowerPoint as I believe it is
more technological and presents your work in more of
a professional way. I used prezi to document my recce
for my photo-shoot with Sarah Jane
7. Slide Share
0 I used slide share in order to upload my presentations
from PowerPoint to the web, enabling me to gain
feedback in their comment box they provide from my
target audience. Slide share helped me upload power
points more easily to blogger. Therefore I could access
them more easily and upload them in no time.
8. Facebook
0 Facebook enabled me to get in touch with people
fairly easily, I used Facebook to contact my actors as it
has a a tool where you can create a group message, I
used this for actors: Lewis, Shannon and Sarah, I also
used Facebook to contact Glassnote Records (the
record label owning my chosen song ‘Candles’)
facebook made this easy for me to do as I typed in the
search bar the production company and it allowed me
to message them without any complications.
9. Media Technologies
0 The use of media technologies helped me
considerably in the filming and creating process. I
have included all of my uses of technology on the
slides below.
10. Apple Mac’s
As the college is equipped
with apple macs, as these
computers are embedded
with the most recent
technologies, it made it easier
as a media student to make
my products as they had the
correct software on them for
example: premiere pro and
Photoshop for my main
product and ancillary tasks.
11. Premiere Pro
0 I used this programme to piece together my final task
of a music video. Premiere Pro enabled me to create
my product in a simple and effective way, I was able to
import my videos and add them to my timeline aswell
as cutting the clips down and drag and drop them
onto my timeline. Able to then piece the story line
together. I also used one of their tools to cut my
performance aspect of the video to fit with the sync.
12. Photoshop
I used Photoshop to edit together my chosen
brief of a digi pac and a magazine front cover, I
decided to use Photoshop as this is the software
I used last year to create my magazine, therefore
I had a great understanding of the programme
therefore I was able to get on with my product
quickly and know what tools are used and how
to create a successful product.
13. Camcorder
0 The camcorder I used was a Toshiba Camelio I did
have a lot off issues with this camera concerning the
battery life and image quality in darkness. However, I
have completed my product and it looks presentable. I
have included below some facts about the camera.
14. Professional Camera
0 The camera I used to capture my shots for my photoshoot
Canon EOS 450D with a 12.2MP sensor with a 18mm-
55mm lens, the flash heads are Lencarta Smart Flash 200
(200 Watts). The light modifiers used on the flash heads
were a 80cm Octabox, 60cm x 60cm Softbox and standard
spill kill reflectors. This camera was perfect for my
product, it gave my photographs the professional look I
was going for, the eye detectors that were built in enabled
me to line up my models eyes with two pin points on the
screen to give my photos the sharp edge, making it look
professional.
15. Photography Studio
As I hired out a professional photography studio,
the equipment involved was very high tech
enabling me to gain the best quality pictures
possible. Above there is a photograph containing
all equipment I used, including the hood lamps to
gain a professional finish.
