era, setting and style. They work alongside the director and
costume designer so that they are able to share their ideas of
styling for each character. The work involved for the hair
designer is going through the script, creative discussion with
the director and costume designer, research, sketching, note
taking. They meet with the characters and draw on
templates for each character to create the look. Also once a
style has been created the stylist has to speak to the
character to show the style to ensure that the character
agrees as well. In the job the hair stylist has to consider any
major changes to the character e.g. cutting hair, hair
extension, colour change. For some hair designers they have
to do; wigs, hairpieces, false moustaches, beards.
