Dealing with new oracle apps users
1. How to manage new users needing the
same responsibility as experienced users
*
2. *
*You have a population of Oracle Apps users.
Some of them are new users, some are
experienced users. You want to develop
personalizations to support new users with
prompts and helps to guide them through the
Oracle Apps but you don’t want to impede the
speed of the experienced users. What are the
options?
3. *
*Spend a lot of time training the new users so
they don’t need the personalizations
*Do the personalizations and tell the
experienced users to just deal with it
*Use UPK and add detailed instructions within
the topics and link them to the Help menu
*Create two responsibilities, one for the new
users with personalizations and one without for
the experienced users
4. *
*The first two options are not ideal and are
rejected
*Using UPK is a great option but not all Oracle
clients have UPK
*We will pursue the fourth option
5. *
*Creating the standard responsibility for the
experienced users should be straight forward
and simple.
*You then copy the responsibility and it’s menus
to the new user responsibility
*You can then develop your personalizations and
trigger them based on the responsibility name.

responsibilities, personalizations and menus at
