New england colonies
1. New England Colonies consisted of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and
Connecticut.
The important attributes and characteristics of these colonies were ship building, fur
trading, fishing and whaling industries. The climate consisted of long winters and hard
soil. The New England Colonies were also famous for making furniture, milling grains
and sewing clothes. The Puritans, group of English settlers, settled in the New England
colonies to start a new life because they wanted to change the Anglican Church.
