Virginia approves its teacher preparation program. Liberty University’s

GRADE POINT AVERAGE
The grade point average is listed at the end of each semester for that
semester; the cumulative GPA†
is at the end of the transcript. The
formula for calculating this is:
GPA = Quality Points divided by GPA Credit Hours
†
The cumulative GPA for each academic level (e.g., undergraduate,
Graduate) includes all grades in that level, regardless of degree
program.
REPEATED GRADES
Starting in the fall of 1979, students were permitted to apply the repeat
policy to a course by requesting that the previous grade be changed to
an “R” and the original grade be removed from the GPA calculation.
Beginning in the fall of 2012, for undergraduate courses, the repeat
policy was changed so that the student’s original grade remains on the
transcript, but will not be calculated into their GPA calculation. This
can also be applied for repeated courses prior to fall 2012 if the
previous policy is not requested.
The following letters may appear to the right of individual course
grades next to the quality points:
A – The grade is included in the GPA hours.
E – The grade is excluded from both the earned hours and the GPA
hours.
I – The grade is included in both the earned hours and the
GPA hours.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTITUTE AND
WILLMINGTON SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE

undergraduate-level coursework. The courses on these specific
transcript pages are institute-level only, even though Willmington
School of the Bible (formerly Liberty Bible Institute) courses are
numbered in the 100-200 range.

Good Academic Standing is implied unless otherwise noted. Students
who fail to attain a minimum GPA for their Academic Level may be
