2. A group of senior vet officer visited the site based on the call and
complain by the farmers. The group of senior vets suspected and
recommended the testing for herd health. Then, staffs from RVL,
Pokhara headed to Gulmi and Arghakhanchi and took the samples
following standard protocol.
A total of 20 samples (Blood, serum, Fecal and nasal swabs) were
taken for the examination.
Temperature from each animal was also recorded; the temperature
was within normal range.
3. A total of 20 fecal samples were collected per rectum following the standard
protocol and examined at Regional Veterinary Laboratory, Pokhara, Nepal.

10. All the blood parameters were normal except
blood glucose, calcium and magnesium
Blood sugar level was very low while blood
calcium was slightly low
Magnesium was higher that could be due to the
feeding of young shoots and young foliage.
All the tested samples were negative for blood
protozoa
11. Immediate measures to restore the normal blood
calcium and glucose level, and PPR
vaccination is suggested.
