• Give orders

• Give advice and make suggestions
Si tu t’ennuies, va et joue des jeux.

3. Forming the imperative
• To form the imperative, leave out the subject
pronouns TU and VOUS in the present tense
of the verbs.
• However, for ER verbs, leave out the S in the
TU form.
Reste ici.
Venez avec moi!

4. Forming the imperative
Exceptions:
• Avoir - Aie/ayez
• Être - Sois/soyez
• Vouloir - Veuillez
Veuillez regarder ta chambre!
• To tell someone not to do something, put
NE...PAS around the command:
Ne touchez pas!
