2. THE BRIEF I CHOSE
A shor t fi lm in its entirety, lasting approximately five minutes,
together with two of the fol lowing three options - a poster,
trai ler and a magazine review page
3. MY SHORT FILM
For my shor t fi lm I am going to do a documentary
It wi l l be on social acceptance
It will be based around how dif ferent generation, genders and
people see themselves, if they act in a way that others do
because they feel they have to, if they feel pressure to fit in
I wi ll show this through a series of interviews from dif ferent
people
Not only this but I will show how people react when they see
someone dressing drastically dif ferently to what kinds of
clothes are accepted
I will do this by having dif ferent people dress in obscure ways
and fi lm how people react
4. WHY I CHOSE TO DO IT
It will be aunique and interesting shor t film that has a
message/point to it
I would also like to look into and discover why people
succumb to dif ferent social pressures
Not only this but I would also like to see, through my
interviews, if these pressures are as noticeable when your
older, or if they are less, or even if it is just something young
people have to deal with
I have also never done a documentary before so I think it will
be interesting and teach me new ski l ls
5. THE KINDS OF PEOPLE I WILL INTERVIEW
Friends (my age, their pressures and how they feel they
compare to what chi ldren younger then them are dealing with
or what their parents dealt with)
Adults (Older people and how they feel about it, i f they have
the pressures from work/family, how they should act and how
they feel about their chi ldren's pressures compared to the
ones they had to deal with when they were younger )
Chi ldren ( I f they are as ef fected by social pressure as older
teenagers, or i f they have di f ferent pressures)
Much younger chi ldren ( I f they have any social pressures at
al l )
People from di f ferent schools/areas of London to me (to get
an idea i f a di f ferent school/area changes their social
pressures)
6. REACTIONS OF PEOPLE
To film the reactions of the people I wil l follow people who I
have dressed in cer tain ways and try and catch as many
reactions as possible to show what people do when they see
someone outside of the “ a c c epted ” look
The kinds of things I will dress them in is quite extravagant
outfits that people d o n’ t unusual ly see when out
I predict that a lot of people will either ignore the person,
keep on looking or pul l faces
Mainly the young people wi l l look on strangely
