1. Virtual World meets Christmas Club Savings Account
Remember that bank account you use to set up at the beginning of the year to save for
Christmas? Most banks would call it the Christmas club account or something close to
that to allow deposits throughout the year to help with saving.
Fast forward now to think about all the different things you would like to save money
for….vacation, college, retirement, Christmas, wedding or heck to just save money!
A startup company has taken all of the above and put that Christmas club account on
steroids right at your fingertips with a Smart Phone application. Instead of spending
money on coffee, tobacco, candy or whatever else it is…..click on the URGE application
and designate the amount you want to save today.
This would be a great value add/ retention tool for those banks that want to drive deposit
growth one deposit at a time. Is it time to bring back that Christmas club concept except
this time it can be done virtually?
URGE is currently looking for a few banks or credit unions to pilot this program while
helping their customers start saving money one deposit at a time.
