Paige Kassuba recounts an experience driving in the winter that resulted in a car accident. After leaving a cousin's house, Paige's family had trouble going up a snowy hill and collided with their aunt's truck when they lost control coming down the other side. Luckily no one was hurt. The next day, Paige's family traded in their damaged car for a new truck.

Why I hate driving in the winter.
One winter day, my family and I went to my cousin Sydney’s house. We all
had a blast but then decided to leave because it was getting late. All of my family
got into their cars. We were the last to leave the driveway because we had to make
sure everyone got out okay.
There was a huge hill to go up. So we started going fast to build up speed
going down the other hill. The ride down the hill went smoothly enough. But when
we got to the top of the big hill, we saw that everyone was out of their cars. While
trying to swerve and not to hit anyone, we collided with my aunt’s truck. Our right
rear door got smashed in when we hit the back end of her truck.
After we stopped spinning from the impact, my dad got out to see if anybody
got hurt. Luckily no one got hurt, my sister who was sitting at that door was just a
little shaken up. When my dad got back into the truck he picked his phone up. He
told us he was calling the cops to let them know what happened and to have them
come check out the accident.

2. When the cops got there, they looked at both of the cars. The officer told
us both of the cars would be fine and to just go home. Since my dad knew the guy,
he didn’t give us a ticket. So we went home.
The next day my dad and sisters and I went to the Traverse City dealership
and traded our car. We got a cool new orange truck!
