1. Accident
Seng fong and Cecilia were walking
home from school. They were talking about
Teacher’s day. They wanted to buy a resent for
Puan Aminah, their class teacher. They then
turned left to Jalan Suri, were Suri lived.
Cecilia said goodbye and crossed the
road. Suddenly, Seng fong heard a loud sound.
She turned quickly. She saw a taxi that was out
of control. Its tyre had exploded and it was
heading straight for Cecilia.
Seng Fong dropped her bag and ran as
fast as she could. She grabbed Cecilia’s arm and
pushed her to the side of the road. Both the
girls tumbled onto the grass. The taxi missed
them by inches and crashed into the tree.
Cecilia was grateful to her friend for saving her
life.
One fine day, Austin and his friends
went fishing at the jetty. They were enjoying
themselves when suddenly, dark clouds
appeared in the sky. There was also lighting,
thunder and heavy rain. They got scared and
ran for shelter. Their fishing rods and baskets of
fish fell into the sea. They lost everything,
It was a gloomy Saturday afternoon as it
was raining cats and dogs. People were rushing
to get home after work. There were puddles of
water everywhere. The bus stop was already
crowded with people taking shelter while
waiting for their buses.
The only people who were moving
around then were those with umbrellas. They
continued making their way to their
destinations. Some people who could not
squeeze into the bus stop shelter got soaked
wet. Even the newspaper that they used to give
them shelter was not much of a help.
The vehicles on the road were moving
very slowly. The roads were slippery and the
drivers found it difficult to see in the stormy
weather.
