2. WHAT YOU NEED :
- Desired amount of potatoes [ preferably 4+ ].
- Stove top.
- A large boiling pot.
- A large food strainer.
- A large chopping knife.
- A cutting board.
- A potato masher / electric mixer.
- Seasoning [ to personal preference ] : salt, milk, pepper, butter, sour cream & / or gravy.
3. BEGINNING STEPS :
The beginning steps to making mashed potatoes :
Thoroughly wash the potatoes removing all dirt.
Cut the potatoes into chunks that are all about the same size.
Turn one of the double burners on high, use the large boiling pot & add water.
Once the water is boiling, add the potatoes and watch, occasionally stirring.
Once the potatoes are soft enough, drain the water into the sink & then return from
strainer into the large boiling pot.
4. ENDING STEPS :
The ending steps to making mashed potatoes :
Once the potatoes have been drained & returned to the large pot, use the potato
masher & / or food mixer to blend the potatoes while adding the salt, pepper, milk &
butter. Once the potatoes begin to have a consistent texture, they are ready.
Serve with sour cream or gravy [ optional ].
