Find all happenings in your city
Localite – Initial Hypothesis
• People have various interests. It can be shopping, parties, food,
  photography and what not.
• But people are not aware if something of their interest is happening
  in their own city.
• Usually they get to know through their friends, and many a times they
  miss out some interesting happenings.
• Localite comes in exactly there, it gives the users rich content of all
the happenings in their city based on their interests.
• Localite features personalized events listing and deals related to these
  events.
Customer Feedback - Users
• We spoke to 40 potential users (34 national and 6 international)
• Most people get the event information from various online groups
  they belong to.
• Few people followed few event websites, but did not like the
  following things:
      • User experience
      • Not personalized
      • Unnecessary and irrelevant ads
• Few people liked the weekly mailers that the event website sends
currently, but would prefer a personalized one.
Customer Feedback – Event Organizers
• We spoke to 4 local event organizers on how they market
• They usually use Facebook and few community websites to advertise
  their events.
• They post it to online groups or company forums via friends and
  family.
• They pay around 5000-10000 INR (100 – 200 USD) if they are
advertising an event on an event website. In return they take a
written guarantee on the minimum number of people who would
  click and buy tickets.
Market Size
• Based on the competition analysis and customer feedback, we
  calculated the potential market size.
   • Approximately 0.75 - 1 Million users are using competitive sites and apps in
     India across 7-8 major cities.
   • Each website is earning a revenue of 10 Million INR (0.2 Million USD) from ads
from reaching 7-8 major cities across India.
• Going with the initial hypothesis and assuming to get the double the
amount of users by catering to more number of cities, we should have
a market size of 20 Million INR. 
Changes and Results: Localite+
• There was not much of a change to the value proposition as the offering
made earlier seemed good to the users.
• We can introduce simple social networking features to have more user
engagement and to increase the daily user base.
• Based on the feedback and market size analysis we made the following
  changes to the business model:
   • Going international early on – there is a good international market to catch,
calculating would be a difficult task to do, but we can assume it to be 5x at least.
   • Selling event tickets on the website – revenue only based on ads is too less, we
need to sell tickets to increase the market size.
• With the above changes to the business model, the market size should
increase 10x to 200 Million INR (40 Million USD).
