3. The need for security
• Manoh—(Hebrew) resting place—to settle down; to
stay settled; to repose.
• Rest—a state of contentment and satisfaction.
• The idea is a home and in the home all of these
things should be present!
• Rest—Freedom from work or activity. The source of
the Christian doctrine of rest, is the rest of GOD.
4. The need for security
• Naomi is seeking a home for her daughter-in-law
Ruth! (Ruth 3:1-5)
• Naomi is trying to arrange a marriage for her
daughter-in-law which was the customary. (Gen.
24:3-4)
• The Lord grant you that ye may find rest, each of
you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed
them; and lifted up their voice, and wept. (Ruth 1:9)
5. The need for security
• Psalm 116:7-9 —Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for
the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee. For thou
hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from
tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the
LORD in the land of the living.
• Matthew 11:28-30—Come unto me, all ye that labour
and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take
my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek
and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
6. All need security, rest,
comfort!
• Everyone need’s a father’s and mother’s love!
• Everyone need’s to be forgiven! (Ps. 51)
• Everyone needs reassured! (1 John 5:13)
• Everyone needs to hear thank you and I appreciate
you!
• Everyone needs to hear you a beautiful, handsome,
thoughtful, kind, gentle, and caring!

spiritual security?
• Like Ruth we are going to have to make ready
