The continual recession in Europe and the stagna-
ted global market inevitably exerted an adverse im-
pact to the PRC’s textile industry. Coupled with the
persistent appreciation of the Renminbi (“RMB”)
and the increasing costs in the PRC market, the de-
mands of the downstream textile industry and the
Group’s products grew slowly during the Year.
During the Year, the Group also strived to avoid
contributing to destructive competition in the
industry by carefully controlling its production
output; expanded its sales channel to promote the
Group’s differentiated acrylic fibre products such
as anti-pilling fibres, fine denier fibres and gel fi-
bres, which also improved the Group’s gross profit
margins. For the Year under review, the average
prices of both of acrylic fibre products and acrylo-
nitrile (the major raw material for the production of
the Group’s products) in the PRC market decreased
slightly.
Nevertheless, as a result of a greater magnitude
in the decrease in average price of acrylonitrile as
compared to that of the decrease in the average pri-
ce of acrylic products, the price difference between
acrylic fibre products and acrylonitrile enlarged,
which improved the profitability of acrylic fibre ma-
nufacturers. Though the PRC carbon fibre market is
still in its primary stage of development, the Group
expects that as the production process technology
of downstream carbonization plants gradually im-
proves, the development pace of the PRC’s carbon
fibre market will accelerate.
The Group’s revenue was approximately RMB1.5
billion for the Year, representing an increase of
approximately 6% as compared to approximately
RMB1.4 billion for the previous year. The sales vo-
lume of the Group’s acrylic fibre and carbon fibre
products amounted to 94,705 tons, increased by
approximately 7% from 88,187 tons for the previous
year. The average unit selling price of acrylic fibre
products for the Year was RMB15,421 per ton,
decreased slightly by approximately 2% as compa-
red to that of the previous year.
The price differential between the average selling
prices of the Group’s acrylic fibre products and its
major raw material, acrylonitrile, was RMB 4,591
per ton for the Year, representing an increase of
approximately 16% from RMB3,959 per ton in the
previous year.
The total volume of the acrylic fibre products pro-
duced by the Group (together with its joint ventu-
re) in the Year was 188,868 tons, accounting for
about 23% of the total production volume of the
domestic acrylic fibre market in PRC.
Sales of the Group’s carbon fibre products were
506 tons for the Year (2012: 38 tons), which accoun-
ted for an insignificant part of the Group’s overall
sales volume.

33. CENTRAL OFFICE
A HIGH-PERFORMANCE DISTRIBUTION CENTRAL
OFFICE IS THE BASIS FOR EVERY FTTX STRATEGY.
Network operators who can rely fully on
their hubs can be proactive and confi-
dent when conducting business on the
market. An uncomplicated out-of-the-box
solution is ideal for them. They should be
able to set up big distributors effortles-
sly, expand them seamlessly and operate
them trouble-free. And they can do just
that thanks to perfectly coordinated mo-
dular systems and planning assistance
from Fibre ConneX.
The ODF SCM (optical distribution frame
with the single circuit management sy-
stem) is the main component of the distri-
bution system. It is configured in five mi-
nutes, set up with a flick of the wrist and
fitted with pre-terminated modules. The
ODF SCM then hits the starting line all set
to go. The distribution system is suitable
for P2P, P2MP and xWDM applications.
All standard commercial FO cable types
today can be connected trouble-free to
the main distributor frame. Moreover,
high packing densities involving more
than 2,300 fibres can be easily accommo-
dated & handled.
The raceway system is like a racetrack
for the fibre optic cables in the hub. It can
be used to guide cables safely betwe-
en distributors, active units, inputs and
outputs.
THE COMPONENTS CAN BE JOINED
TOGETHER WITH THE GREATEST OF
EASE, BASED ON THEIR MODULAR
DESIGN.
The Fibre ConneX foxs line has the appro-
priate components for every conceivable
application. Splitters can be integrated
per splice or simply per connector, no
matter whether the single circuit mana-
gement (SCM) system is employed with
its handy modular and tray technology or
tried-and-tested 19’’ units are used.
For WAN, back-haul and backbone
cabling, the range offers 19’’ Unirack in-
serts, among other options. In cases in-
volving hybrid cabling, like: bonding, vec-
toring, G.Fast etc., network operators can
turn to the copper connection technology
from the VS range at Fibre ConneX, more-
over remote powering for the active devi-
ces is perfectly supported.
35. OUTSIDE PLANT
OUT IN THE FIELD EVERYTHING HAS TO BE EVEN
SAFER, MORE STABLE AND EASIER TO MAINTAIN.
Outside plant cabling regularly faces the
biggest challenges of all. Fibre ConneX
has a complete lineup of correspondin-
gly sturdy street cabinets, closures and
small distributors incorporating top-gra-
de connection and distribution technolo-
gy. The platforms support all cable types,
topologies and expansion strategies for
fibre optic networks.
Street cabinets and cable distributors are
the milestones on the road to FTTX and
key distribution points for entire towns or
neighborhoods. They are equipped with
the same compact distributor modules
as are used in the central office. With
this approach, Fibre ConneX reduces the
expense and effort that go into planning,
training and installation. There are “de-
sign-in-solutions” for existing housings
and quick-assembly retrofit kits. Fibre
ConneX provides adaptations and pre-ter-
minated modules for special applica-
tions, proprietary standards and national
specifications. The HD cable distributor
has a packing density of more than 3,000
splice connections, which could well be
a record. Optimum use can therefore be
made of valuable sites requiring permits.
Fibre ConneX has developed the sturdiest
enclosures to meet the toughest condi-
tions of use in manholes, on facades and
poles. They meet the conditions above
the ingress protection rating of IP68. Up
to 1,152 splice connections can be safely
stored in the compact covers. Fibre and
subscriber management remains con-
venient and straightforward in spite of
this extraordinary packing density. As a
result, network operators enjoy tremen-
dous freedom in the approach they take
to covering the last mile. Any set of cable
inputs can be selected for the bottom of
the enclosure. The enclosures also serve
as housings for mass splices to connect
back-haul or WAN applications.
37. CUSTOMER
CONNECTION TO HIGH-RISES AND RESIDENTIAL
COMPLEXES.
A connection to one building can open
the way to a large number of customers.
Access providers can find appealing mar-
ket opportunities for fibre optic packages
in high-rises and large residential com-
plexes. However, they need a scalable
cabling system that can be easily adap-
ted to the specific situation of the buil-
ding. Above all, this system has to simpli-
fy fibre and subscriber management so
that new subscribers or services can be
added and connected quickly. The Fibre
ConneX flexible solutions for big buildin-
gs ensure success every time.
The versatile Venus Boxes serve as bu-
ilding entry points and are available in
varying sizes. They also provide a com-
pact platform for splice and splitter
cabling as well as for patch and CWDM
cabling in the building. Up to 864 fibres
can be supplied with one Venus Box.
Cable inputs at both sides of the front
simplify installation in riser zones.
Stories or apartments can be connected
in no time with the fibre optic outlets
from Fibre ConneX. The outlets for splice
cabling on customer premises is an ideal
solution with its effective fibre guidance,
rear- side storage space for excess cable
lengths and integrated dust protection.
The pigtails are safe and sound in a sepa-
rate chamber next to the connection pa-
nel. Ingenious quick-assembly technolo-
gy helps installers to save time. One click
and the Fibre Outlet is solidly connected
to the mounting frame.
39. CUSTOMER
CABLING FOR RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS.
If a network operator wants to supply a
large number of small buildings with fibre
optic connections, it needs extremely ef-
ficient and fast solutions. The task is to
hook up entire housing developments in
the shortest possible time. Fibre ConneX
has the right solutions, from the small Ve-
nus Box for the building entry point to the
professional home network.
One highlight in the range is the field-ter-
minable connector as an alternative to
fusion splicing. It can be connected with
fibres in no time at all. This procedure re-
quires no specialized knowledge and can
be carried out by an experienced installer
on site. The FO mini- outlet is especial-
ly made for the use of field terminable
connectors. This ultra-flat outlet offers
robust protection for the connector and
sufficient space for extra fibres.
Fibre optic cabling throughout buildings
and homes is the wave of the future. To-
day, people often still select hybrid infra-
structures and continue using the coax
and twisted-pair copper cabling already
in place. Fibre ConneX has also develo-
ped suitable distributors and connection
outlets for this approach. That means cu-
stomers can use different services while
at the same time preparing their buildings
or homes for subsequent migration to Fi-
bre in the Home.
