David Thompson was an explorer who mapped much of western Canada and parts of the northwestern United States. He worked with several partners including John Moore, Bruce McDonald, and Jeff Spivey to map large areas of uncharted territory in western North America in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Thompson was a key figure in the exploration and mapping of Canada and parts of the northern United States.
