2. WHEN WAS JESUS CHRIST BORN?
• The possible birth of Jesus Christ can be traced
based on the period of conception and birth of
John the Baptist.
• Elizabeth, John’s mother was in her sixth month
of pregnancy when Jesus was conceived (read
Luke 1:24-36)
3. “
LUKE 1:26-36 (ESV)
26In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent
from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27to
a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was
Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's
name was Mary. 28And he came to her and said,
“Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”
4. “
LUKE 1:26-36 (ESV)
29But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and
tried to discern what sort of greeting this might
be. 30And the angel said to her,“Do not be afraid,
Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31And
behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear
a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32He will
be great and will be called the Son of the Most

High. And the Lord God will give to him the
throne of his father David, 33and he will reign
over the house of Jacob forever, and of his
kingdom there will be no end.” 34And Mary said
to the angel,“How will this be, since I am a
virgin?”35And the angel answered her,“The Holy
Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the

Most High will overshadow you; therefore the
child to be born will be called holy—the Son of
God. 36And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her
old age has also conceived a son, and this is the
sixth month with her who was called barren.
7. WHEN WAS JESUS CHRIST BORN?
• John’s father, Zacharias, was a priest serving in the
Jerusalem temple during the course of Abijah (Luke
1:5). Historical calculations indicate this course of
service corresponded to June 13-19 in that year (The
Companion Bible,1974,Appendix 179,p.200).
• It was during this time of temple service that
Zacharias learned that he and his wife, Elizabeth,
would have a child (Luke 1:8-24).
8. “
LUKE 1:21-24 (ESV)
21And the people were waiting for Zechariah, and
they were wondering at his delay in the temple.
22And when he came out, he was unable to speak
to them, and they realized that he had seen a
vision in the temple. And he kept making signs to
them and remained mute. 23And when his time of
service was ended, he went to his home. 24After
these days his wife Elizabeth conceived...
9. WHEN WAS JESUS CHRIST BORN?
• Assuming John’s conception took place near the end
of June, adding nine months brings us to the end of
March as the most likely time for John’s birth.
• Adding another six months (the difference in ages
between John and Jesus) brings us to the end of
September as the likely time of Jesus’ birth.

11. DO WE NEED TO CELEBRATE JESUS
BIRTHDAY ON SEPTEMBER?
•NO.The Bible nowhere tells us to observe a holiday
celebrating Jesus Christ’s birth —but it clearly does
tell us to commemorate His death. (1 Corinthians
11:23-28)
•But it’s surprising that on September 2018, we in the
Church observed the Day of Atonement (Sept. 19) &
Feast of Tabernacles (Sept. 24-30).
12. •Yes, the Bible does give us quite a few details of
Jesus birth—the angelic appearance to Mary and
then Joseph, the conditions surrounding His birth in
Bethlehem. But nowhere in the Bible is there any
record of anyone observing Christmas or any hint
that God the Father or Jesus Christ expects us to do
so.
13. •Christmas is nowhere mentioned in the Bible. This is
rather obvious, but most people never give it a
second thought.
•The books of the New Testament cover 30+ years of
Jesus Christ’s life, then another 30+ years of the
early Church following His death and resurrection,
but nowhere do we find any hint of a Christmas
celebration.Writers of the New Testament who were
disciples of Jesus must reveal it in their writings.
14. ARGUMENT #1: But even though the
exact date of Jesus Christ's birthday is
unknown, should we not select some
date to celebrate His birthday?
•NO. In his booklet "The Plain Truth About
Christmas” (1974) page 2 & 15, Herbert W.
Armstrong cited the Catholic Encyclopedia (1911
edition) that states "Sinners alone, not saints,
celebrate birthdays."
15. • In the Bible, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or
held a great banquet on his birthday but unbelievers
like Pharaoh (Genesis 40:20-22) and Herod (Matthew
14:6-11; Mark 6:21-28). Both of them decided to murder
a man during their birthday.
18. CHRISTMAS IS A PAGAN WORSHIP
• The real origin of paganism
Christmas started by the
Babylonian of ancient Nimrod
who built the tower of Babel,
the original Babylon, ancient
Nineveh, and many cities,
Nimrod, in Hebrew is derived
from "Marad", meaning "he
rebelled". He organized this
world's first kingdom.
19. CHRISTMAS IS A PAGAN WORSHIP
• Nimrod was so evil, it is said he
married his own mother, whose name
was Semiramis. After Nimrod's untimely
death, his so-called mother-wife,
Semiramis, propagated the evil
doctrine of the survival of Nimrod as a
spirit being. She claimed a full-grown
evergreen tree sprang overnight for
into new life of the dead Nimrod.
20. CHRISTMAS IS A PAGAN WORSHIP
• On each anniversary of his birth, she
claimed, Nimrod would visit the
evergreen tree and leave gifts upon it.
December 25th was the birthday of
Nimrod. This is the real origin of the
Christmas tree.
21. CHRISTMAS IS A PAGAN WORSHIP
• Semiramis became the
Babylonian "Queen of Heaven",
and Nimrod, under various
names became the "divine son
of heaven".Through the
generations, in this idolatrous
worship, Nimrod also became
the false messiah, the son of
Ball the Sun-god.
22. CHRISTMAS IS A PAGAN WORSHIP
• In this false Babylonish system,
the "Mother and Child"
(Semiramis and Nimrod
reborn) became the chief
objects of worship.This
worship of "Mother and Child"
spread over the world.The
names varies in different
countries and language.
23. CHRISTMAS IS A PAGAN WORSHIP
• In Egypt it was Isis and Osiris.
In Asia Cybele and Deoius. In
pagan Rome, Fortuna and
Jupiterpuer. Even in Greece,
china, Japan Tibet is to be
found the counterpart of the
Madonna long before the birth
of Christ.

25. ARGUMENT #2: Even though Christmas
was a pagan custom, honoring the false
sun-god, we don't observed it to honor
the false god, we observed it to honor
Christ.
•God plainly said in His instruction to us that He will
not accept that kind of worship even though
intended in His honor. (read Deuteronomy 12:30-31)
26. “
DEUTERONOMY 12:30-31 (ESV)
30take care that you be not ensnared to follow
them, after they have been destroyed before you,
and that you do not inquire about their gods,
saying,‘How did these nations serve their
gods?—that I also may do the same.’ 31You shall
not worship the Lord your God in that way, for
every abominable thing that the Lord hates they
have done for their gods, for they even burn their
sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.
27. •Jesus said that "God is a spirit and they that worship
Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John
4:24).The truth is God's Word - the Holy Bible (John
17:17).
•Bible says God will not accept worship when people
take a pagan custom or manner of worship and try to
honor Christ with it. (read Matthew 15:9)
28. “
MATTHEW 15:7-9 (ESV)
7You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you,
when he said: 8“‘This people honors me with
their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9in vain
do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the
commandments of men.’”
Cited from Isa. 29:13; Ezek. 33:31
29. 3 POINTS TO CHRISTMAS...
1. It is a vain worship, pagan doctrines and the
commandments of men (Matthew 15:7-9)
2. It is abomination to the Lord our God.True
Christian must not worship the Lord our God in
that way (Deuteronomy 12:30-31)
3. It replaced the true glory of powerful GOD
(read Romans 1:21-25)
30. “
ROMANS 1:21-23,25 (ESV)
21For although they knew God, they did not honor
him as God or give thanks to him, but they
became futile in their thinking, and their foolish
hearts were darkened. 22Claiming to be wise,
they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of
the immortal God for images resembling mortal
man and birds and animals and creeping things.
23Compare Ps. 106:20; Jer. 2:11
31. “
ROMANS 1:21-25 (ESV)
24Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their
hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their
bodies among themselves, 25because they
exchanged the truth about God for a lie and
worshiped and served the creature rather than
the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
25Compare Isa. 28:15; 44:19-20; Amos 2:4
32. CHRISTMAS DOES NOT
HONOR CHRIST
●Vain worship, pagan doctrines and the
commandments of men; ●Abomination to the Lord
our God; ●Replaced the truth and true glory &
power of the holy, perfect, righteous GOD
33. CHRISTMAS DOES NOT
HONOR CHRIST
So stay away from observing that pagan
celebration that makes us unclean to GOD.
Let’s strive to become blameless and
delightful in the eyes of God, celebrating the
true Holy Days of God!
