2. Step one: Choose a clean, safe
container to keep
your betta fish while
you are cleaning its
tank.
Make sure the
container has a hole
at the top.

3. Step two:
Take out any decorations
that are in your fish tank
and dry them with a paper
towel.
If they are dirty you can
wash them with soap and
water and let them sit on a
paper towel while you clean
the rest of the tank.

4. Step three:
If your tank consists of a
filter, take it out and throw
out the dirty filter cartridge.
You can set this on a paper
towel as well.

5. Step four:
Proceed to a sink to empty
out the dirty water into the
sink.
Use your hand as a
blocking device so that no
gravel gets into the sink.

6. Step five:
Empty the gravel onto a
paper towel and dry them
to get any remaining dirty
off.
Then, use your hands or a
sponge, and with soap
clean the tank thoroughly.

7. Step six:
Thoroughly dry your tank and
set it back onto surface of
choice.
Add gravel and room
temperature water. This is
also where you add any type
of water conditioner to
condition the water.
Let the conditioner sit in water
for 5 minutes.

8. Step seven:
Change filter using a new
filter cartridge.
Once you place the filter
back in the tank, you can
add the clean decorations.

9. Step eight:
Last but not least, add your
betta fish back to its new
clean habitat.
Your fish will be a lot
happier with a clean
environment to swim
around!

10. You now
have a clean
tank and a
happy betta
fish!
