2. I chose the objects I used because they are personal to me and they reflect who I
am and what I enjoy. Another reason why I chose them was for ‘detail’, which can
be seen especially in this, black and white image with the cymbals and
drumsticks.
3. As I took the photos, I changed the aperture/depth of field, shown in the image
above, because I wanted to have a part of the photo as the subject matter clear
and the rest of it out if focus. Moreover, I also changed the perspective of the
photos by either taking it from directly above or down low, making you feel as if
your among the objects and in the action firsthand.
4. Another aspect I considered was the composition of my objects as I placed them
in such a way, which firstly created a walkway between them, shown in the image
above, and secondly I ordered some of the objects by placing the three different
cymbals from largest to smallest. I think that this image was my most successful
because it seems to guide your eyes in further and into a passage of light,
between the drumsticks and red ‘block’.
5. I also considered the lightning by making sure I set up my objects close to a
window so that natural light could be used. A tripod was also used while taking
the photos, as I wanted to reduce camera shake and because there was a low
amount of light in the room, therefore I had to use a short shutter speed.
