Present continuous with future meaning

 1. 1. PRESENT CONTINUOUS WITH FUTURE MEANING
2. 2. The present continuous can have a future meaning. We use it here instead of the future with “going to”.
We use it when we are talking about something we have arranged (decided) to do, and the moment when we are going to do it.
3. 3. FOR EXAMPLE:
What are you doing tomorrow evening? I'm going to the theatre.
I'm working next Sunday.
Are you meeting your friends
tomorrow? Yes, we're going out for a drink.
4. 4. Allthepreviousexamples refertothingsthat, more thanplanned, are decided and fixed in time.
“Goingto” and “presentcontinuouswithfuturemeaning” are very similar, butthesecondis more FIXED.
5. 5. THE END
