1. ABSTRACT
The objective of the present Project is to determine, analyze, and look for
solutions to the different factors causing poor or low academic performance in
classroom practices, students of ninth grade, in Social Sciences Studies of The
Institution Educative Nuestra Señora de Belén of Armenia municipality, Quindío
department.
The impact, the transcendence of the state public policy in the school, the
classroom, the parents, the students ,their representatives, and the incidence
of TIC for improving ninth graders´ academic performance in social science
studies of Institution Educative Nuestra Señora de Belén.
This project was implemented in the Institution Educative Nuestra Señora de
Belén of Armenia municipality, Quindío department , following two stages.
The first one became the consulting, methodological, pedagogical start point for
the students, teachers, and pupils´ representatives.
The second stage will be implemented in 2013 with a curricular adaptation and
the area plan of Social Sciences for ninth graders, with the use 0f some web 2.0
tools to consolidate the teaching process and whichcan be useful to support
teachers´ job for reaching the intended goals of the area.
By using these informatics resources, the students have the possibility to
interact with several audiovisual aids like images, videos, texts, and links to
documents in real time to have access to related contents with the area
mentioned above.
Moreover, the teacher will be able to redevise continuously methodological
strategies which permit them to enrich their personal and team performance
with their tutees, getting better academic results with a major approaching to
teenagers in order to practice such activities, and be encouraged by the
contents acquired byusing the new tools and TIC implemented in the
classroom programs.
