Objective

advancement of young adults.As a secondary mathematics educatorI seek the opportunity to create, support,and maintain a rigorous

Experience
Bronx Preparatory Charter School June 2013 – Present
7th Grade Math teacher
Design and present differentiated comprehensive lesson plans that are aligned to state common core standards.
Examine and utilize assessment data to guide future classroominstruction
Create and maintain a rigorous learning environment for all students through differentiated lesson plans, and assessments
Create and deliver state aligned lessons,that challenged all scholars,and helped double the number of scholars who
passed the New York State common core exam.
Collaborated with colleagues to develop thematic units that ultimately diversified classroominstruction and maximized
student learning.
Launched a school-wide reading initiative in order to advance the culture amongst staff and students
Implement academic and behavioral interventions to support scholars in their areas of necessary growth.
Civic Coordinator June 2014 – Present
Lead school-wide Breast Cancer fundraiser initiative; resulting in over $1,500 raised under 2 months
Implemented outreach strategies to inform and motivate the residents of the South Bronx to vote.
Develop, market, and facilitate civic activities; resulting in improved community relationships,programs, and

Taught one core math class of 22 6th grade students
Designed and implemented rigorous lesson plans aligned to the Math Common Core standards that were differentiated
to accommodate various student needs,specifically for students who speakSpanish as their first or only language.
Examined and utilized data from assessment scores to guide further instruction
Co-taught two math extensions designed to extend the learning students receive in their core math class; created
individualized goals for students to meet and master standards
Collaborated with working professionals from well-known organizations (ex. Google, Facebook) to co-teach two classes
of 15-24 students to link classroomacademic skills to career success through hands on learning.
Linked 21st Century skills; problem solving, communication, critical thinking and collaboration to common core
mathematical standards.
