What is ?

Canva is a free
graphic-design tool
website in which
helps you create
amazing images
and assists you in
designing just like
the image in the
right.

It has a drag and drop feature that helps
you create and design an image easily.

Over a million of images to choose from,
all are easily customizable.

There are
also lots of
layouts to
choose from.

Fast and
easy
photo editing
feature
(no need for
photoshop)

Autosave
feature
(No need to manually
save your design
every time.)

You can create Canva to create the
following:
and a lot more…

Open your favorite web browser

Search for Canva

Click the Canva.com link

This is the Canva’s home page

You can sign up
by using your
Facebook,
Google or email
account

Click
Sign up
with Email

Enter your
Name, Email

Click Sign up

Canva Home Page will display in your
screen
But, you need to confirm first your account with Canva.

Canva will automatically email a
link to confirm your registration.

Click the
(+), to add
another tab

A new tab
will appear
in the
screen

Click
Gmail

Enter Email
address and
click NEXT.

Enter your
password
and click
NEXT.

Check for
Canva
email, then
click to
open

Click
Confirm my
account

After confirming the account, a new tab will
open.
Enter Email
Address and
Password,
then click Log
in

This is your Canva dashboard

Feel free to create a design
Let’s
choose
Social
Media.

A Social Media tab will open.
Click
Got it,
thanks!

Let’s give our design a name first

Give a name to your design, then click Done

The title will automatically change

Let’s explore the design panel

Search Tab
- you can
search
anything
want

Let’s try to
search
“Mountains”.

Here are the results

It will appear here

Elements
Tab

Free Photos will
let you choose
millions of photos
to customize

Click on the photo and it will appear
on the template

Grids helps you
to create more
layouts in your
image and
design

Click on the grid and it will appear
on your template

Click on the left grid to edit

This is the edit toolbar

Click this if you want to change the grid’s
color

Choose a color from the color tab to
change the background

Or click the plus (+) icon for more colors

To delete the right grid, click the Trash
icon

Use scroll
bar to select
more frames

Click on a frame and it will appear
on your template

Drag the corners to resize the
frame

Drag and twist the arrow to rotate the
frame

Go to Search Bar to add an
image

Let’s search for “Mountains” image

Click the image and drag the image
to resize and fit

To upload an image, click the Uploads
tab

Choose an image from your
computer
Select an
image
then click
Open

Wait for the
loading bar
for the
upload to
finish

Your image
has been
uploaded

Drag the image inside

Double click the frame to adjust the
image by dragging the cursor up and
down

Click the Check (√) once done

Tadaaa… It’s done!

Shapes
adds a flair
of character
to your
design

Click on a shape and it will appear
on your template

Drag the corners to resize

Click here to change the color

Now let’s use a shape to
demonstrate Canva’s
editing features

Click the shape tab

Click the shape and it will
appear on your template

Drag and twist curved arrow to
rotate

Click Copy to duplicate the
shape.

Click here to change the color of
the duplicate shape

Select the color of the duplicate
shape

You may also change the color of
the original shape

Click the original shape and click trash
icon to delete

Click this to add a website link to
the shape.

Enter the link here and click
Apply

Click this to edit the
transparency of the shape

Drag the slider to adjust the
transparency

Use the transparency when adding
text to shapes to make it readable

Text Tab
- adds a
customizable
and editable
text to your
design

Choose a text template

Editing toolbar for the text

Select text and edit what it says
as desired

Click here to change the Font style and
select by scrolling the dropdown bar

Click here to change the font
color

Click here to make the text Bold or
Italic

Click here to change the text
alignment

Click here to change the font to ALL
CAPS

Click here to make a list

Use other editing tools as desired

Tab
- it is used to
provide a
backdrop to
design

Click here to
choose either
solid or
patterned
background

Click the plus (+) icon to select more
colors

How to edit photos?

Choose a free photo from Canva

Drag the corners to the end of the
sides to adjust the image

Click the toolbar for editing

Click Filter to create a special photo
effect

Filters are used to make beautiful
enhancements to the photo

Click right arrow for more filter
effects

Auto adjustments using filter

Click Advanced Options for
more filter properties

Let’s try the Normal effect

Properties of the Normal effect
are all set to zero (0)

Let’s try to use Drama effect

Start with the Normal effect first

Drag each property towards left
or right to adjust

Adjust the Brightness to 20

Adjust the Contrast to 23

Adjust the Saturation to 12

Adjust the Tint to -9

Adjust the Blur to -15

Adjust the X-Process to 12

Adjust the Vignette to 24

Notice that the filter code keeps on
changing every time you adjust the property

Take note of the filter code for
future
use on your other designs

For finishing touches – add some
shapes and texts

Final output

Share your design

Select Social

Share it on Facebook or Twitter

You can add and write a Caption

Let’s try Facebook

Click Connect account

Click Continue as to link to your
Facebook account

Click OK

Click View it on Facebook

Tadaa, your design is posted on
Facebook

You can also download your
design

Click the drop down arrow to
choose the format

Click Download

For multiple pages, choose pages
to download

Make your design Public
