5. “I hope that everything will
turn out for the best.”
6. What is Christian Hope?
• Christian Hope is a certainty and confidence in our future with
God.
• Hope in the Lord gives us strength and helps us to face any
challenge that comes our way.
• Hope in the Lord teaches us patience. Society encourages us to solve
our own problems. But when we face an impossible or hopeless
situation, if we lean on the Lord and give him our difficulties, we
will see that, we do not need to be anxious or worried. In God’s
time we will find peace.
• Hope in the Lord brings encouragement. You know that feeling you
get at the end of a long week? The anticipation of the weekend lifts
your spirits. Now think about stretching that weekend out for
eternity. We can find encouragement and joy amid life’s struggles
because we know we will live forever with Jesus. That is why we
are told to anticipate His glorious return (Titus 2:13).
7. Reasons for Hope
• The covenant with Adam and Eve that a “promised seed” will
overcome evil and allow us to return to Eden.
• God blesses Abraham, and through him all the families of the earth
will be blessed.”
• Israel ’s release from slavery in Egypt and her passage through the
Red Sea and the gift of the Ten Commandments.
• The renewal of God’s covenant promise to his people and their
renewal of their promises to him through David and the prophets.
• The return of Israel from exile in Babylon and God joining with them
in the celebration of their homecoming.
13. “I believe with
perfect faith in
the coming of the
Messiah. And
though he tarry,
yet will I believe.”
14. • Hope keeps faith from collapsing under the
weight of disappointment
• Hope also keeps love from dissolving under
the flood of frustration.
• Only hope keeps us clinging to love and faith.
15. “Be steadfast, immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that in the Lord your labour
will never be in vain.”
18. “Leave your country and your home
for the land I will show you.”
Genesis 12:1
19. “Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking
up toward heaven...? Go into the entire world
and proclaim the good news to the whole of
creation... You will be my witnesses... to the
ends of the earth.” Acts 1:11, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8
