DNA is located in the nucleus of cells in the form of chromatin and is made up of nucleotides. Nucleotides consist of a nucleic acid, sugar, and phosphate group. DNA has a double helix spiral shape with alternating sugar and phosphate groups forming the sides of the ladder and nitrogen base pairs of adenine-thymine and cytosine-guanine forming the rungs.
