13. In vehicleswith air conditioning,the following
assemblyoperations must be performed:
a: SuckPentosinfluid out of the reservoir until
the levelis just belowthejoint. Turn bayonet
lock in the direction indicatedby the arrow
and pull off the reservoir. Immediatelysealthe
lower reservoirwith a suitableplug (30 mm ~).

The entire engine-transmissionunitis removedin
downwarddirection.
5. Removerearspoiler.
Removal
1. Putbody-protectioncoverson vehicle.
2. Disconnectthe battery and cover terminalor
battery.
3. Beforethe vehicleis raised,the side covers
of the undersidepanel mustbe removedin
the rear area of the jacking points.

6. Removesideretainingbrackets(heatshield).

4. Raisevehicle at the prescribedjacking points
and removethe rear wheels.Removethe
centre and rear undersidepanels.

34. b. Undohose clamp on throttle bodyand pull
plug off the massair flow meter. Unclipwire
on air cleanerhousingand removeair cleaner
assembly.
8. Undo coolantdrain plug and drainthe coolant;
removethe coolanthoses.
After drainingthe coolant, fit a newsealing
ring on the drainplug.
Tighteningtorque 10 + 5 Nm (7.5 + 3.5 ftJb.).

c. Removedrive belt. Mark belttravel direction
with a coloured pen. Slackenbelt, turningthe
tensioningpulley(wrenchsize 24 mm)clock-
wise, hold still and simultaneouslytake the
belt off the drive pulleys.

hosesconnectedand secure it againstbeing
dropped.

Note
The steeringlinesalso can be detached imme-
diatelyafter the engine-transmissionunit has
beenloweredout of the vehicle(better accessibi-
lity),
14. Disconnectplug-incouplings of the steering
pressureline and the steering return line.
The plug-incouplingsare openedby
unscrewing.
(Returnline = large diameter/pressure
line = small diamter.)
CollectPentosinresidues. 15. Undo engine wiring harnesses (round con-
nectors with bayonet lock) on the right side
in the engine compartment.

pull off the line.
19. Raisethe vehicleand removethe rear-axle
drive shafts,diagonalbraces,and front and
rear cross members.

in the engine compartment(left). It is very im-
portantto counter whenperformingthis
step. Collectresidualfuel.
