2. Etihad Airways will be offering free visas to
people travelling from Kochi,
Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode airports to
Abu Dhabi.
This was part of a special promotion of the
airline's visa processing service launched with
TT Services in May.
T TServices is a focused visa outsourcing service
provider in India, Sri Lanka , South Korea,
Sweden , Russian Federation and the UAE.
3. Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover launched
the armoured range of its Range Rover and
Discovery sports utility vehicles, with prices of
Rs 4.75 crore and Rs 3.75 crore .
The company is also looking at launching the
armoured version of Jaguar XJ sedan, which
could be priced around Rs 5.5 crore.
Tata Motors and JLR are currently working on
assembling some products from Land Rover in
India in order to meet demands in India.
4. The financial services sector and corporates
expect the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to
hike key policy rates by 25 basis points.
The repo and the reverse repo are the rates at
which the central bank lends and sucks
excess liquidity in the system, respectively.
This would take the repo rate to 6.5% and
reverse repo rate to 5.5% from the current
6% and 5%, respectively.
5. The Italian car major, Fiat, plans to open
exclusive company-owned brand stores in
major cities.
The brand stores would be an indirect way of
starting its own retail format without involving
Tata Motors.
Fiat will also display its merchandise and
accessories at these brand stores, which will
also serve authentic Italian coffee.
