2. United States of America
My country is the United States of America
and I would want future generations to
have a good understanding of the Bill of
Rights. It was created to protect rights of
the American citizens that they believed
were naturally theirs.
The Bill of Rights is very critical as it
protects our most basic liberties as United
States citizens. Throughout our history
there have been people fighting for our
most basic rights. Our most notable Civil
Rights Activists are Martin Luther King Jr.
and Rosa Parks.
3. Civil Rights Activists
Martin Luther King Jr.: During the March on
Washington for Jobs and Freedom he gave his
most notable speech "I Have a Dream.“ Today, it is
regarded as one of the most finest speeches in the
history of American oratory.
He played a major role in the advancement of civil
rights using the tactics of nonviolence and civil
disobedience.
After his assassination Congress passed the Civil
Rights Act of 1968. It provided equal housing
opportunities regardless of race, or religion and
made it a federal crime to “by force or by threat of
force to interfere with anyone by reason of their
race, color, religion, or national origin.”

5. Civil Rights Activists
Rosa Parks: On December 1, 1955, in
Montgomery, Alabama, Parks refused to
obey a bus driver’s order to give up her
seat in the "colored section" to a white
passenger, after the whites-only section
was filled. Parks was not the first person to
resist bus segregation.
The United States Congress gave her the
title of "the first lady of civil rights" and
"the mother of the freedom movement.”

Andy Warhol: In 1961, Warhol debuted
the concept of pop art. His artwork
focused mainly on mass-produced
commercial goods such as dollar bills,
Campbell’s Soup Cans, Coca-Cola bottles,
etc.
Warhol was well known for painting
celebrity portraits in vivid and bright
colors. His most famous subjects include
Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, and
Mick Jagger.

Michael Jackson: He is commonly referred
to as the “King of Pop.” His most popular
songs include Thriller, Billie Jean, Beat It, and
Smooth Criminal.
Michael Jackson did not just have a unique
voice. He had the ability to mesmerize the
people in the crowd with his signature dance
moves.
