This document outlines an agenda for a conversation on FRBR/FRAD models and their implementation. It includes presentations from two speakers, followed by breaking into groups for discussion. The small group discussions aim to increase understanding of FRBR/FRAD, generate ideas for applying FRBR principles to metadata and systems, identify issues, and discuss how the music community can contribute to progress. Groups will then briefly report back, and a discussion will follow to identify common themes, questions, and next steps.

How this is going to work
1. Presentations from Jean and Jay
2. Gather talking points from you, based on the
presentations and related FRBR/FRAD (and, by
extension, RDA) issues
3. Break into groups to discuss those talking points (30
minutes)
4. Reconvene in the big group for (2 minute!) reporting,
synthesis, wrapup (20 minutes)

Goals of the small group discussions
• Increase understanding of the FRBR/FRAD models and
their implementation among attendees, including, but not
limited to, in RDA
• Generate ideas for specific things the library cataloging
community can do to to move towards FRBRized data
and systems
• Identify issues that will need to be resolved in order to
move towards FRBRized data and systems
• Identify ways in which the music metadata community can
uniquely or substantively contribute to moving forward

And we’re back
• 2 minute reports from groups
• Really. I mean it.
• There will be a buzzer.
• Discussion:
• What common themes arose from multiple groups?
• What new questions do these reports raise?
• What next?
