The government of this society is an oligarchy comprised solely of females who serve lifelong terms. Daughters inherit their mothers' government positions. Citizens have some freedoms like speech and religion but within government regulations. The ideal family consists of two children of different sexes. Spouses and children are assigned rather than chosen. Children and elderly are cared for in government facilities until given to families or reaching old age. The society utilizes futuristic technology running on hydroelectric power and is located between the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.
