3. Pixels
megapixels aantal pixels van digitale foto’s
1MP (1280 x 960)
2MP (1600 x 1200)
3MP (2048 x 1536)
4MP (2272 x 1704)
5MP (2560 x 1920)
6MP (3072 x 2048)
8MP (3264 x 2448)
11MP (4064 x 2704)
14MP (4536 x 3024)
6. Resolutie
dpi dots per inch
output naar analoge beeldvorming zoals bij film, fotopapier, print- en drukwerk
ppi pixels per inch
input door digitale beeldvorming zoals bij digitale fototoestellen, camera’s en scanners
7. Output
druk standaard offset drukwerk 300 dpi (ppi)
web standaard 72 dpi (ppi)
300 versus 72
9. Image size
no resampling het aantal pixels blijft gelijk, enkel formaat en resolutie veranderen omgekeerd evenredig
10. Resampling
minder pixels worden weggelaten (herrekend) in functie van de gewenste resolutie en/of het formaat
meer pixels worden bijgemaakt (berekend) in functie van de gewenste resolutie en/of het formaat
11. Nearest Neighbor A fast but less precise method that replicates the pixels in an image.
This method is for use with illustrations containing edges that are not anti-aliased, to
preserve hard edges and produce a smaller file. However, this method can produce jagged
effects, which become apparent when you distort or scale an image or perform multiple
manipulations on a selection.
12. Bilinear A method that adds pixels by averaging the color values of surrounding pixels. It produces
medium-quality results.
Bicubic A slower but more precise method based on an examination of the values of surrounding
pixels. Using more complex calculations, Bicubic produces smoother tonal gradations than
Nearest Neighbor or Bilinear.
Bicubic Smoother A good method for enlarging images based on Bicubic interpolation but designed to produce
smoother results.
Bicubic Sharper A good method for reducing the size of an image based on Bicubic interpolation with
enhanced sharpening. This method maintains the detail in a resampled image. If Bicubic
Sharper oversharpens some areas of an image, try using Bicubic.
