2. 1. Giving is the most frequently discussed
subject in the Bible.
2. The more you give the happier you will be!
(Acts 20:35)
3. Giving is essential to salvation. (Mk. 10:1722)
4. Money can rule our lives. (I Tim. 6:9-10)
5. Everything belongs to God (Psa. 50:9-12)
6. There is no record in the Bible where God
ever accepted less than 10 percent from any
of His followers.
7. We must give to God first. (Mt. 6:33)
8. Giving involves unwavering commitment (II
Cor. 9:7)
9. God will bless you if you give scripturally and
dares you to do so to see what happens.
5. We all have known people whose actions
show that they do not love others
although they loudly profess their love.
Husband
Father
Wife
Son or Daughter
Likewise, a Christian, who claims to love
God, but does not give scripturally and
liberally, does not really love God.
6. A Christian who claims to love God, but
does not give scripturally and liberally,
does not really love God.
Matthew 22:36-37 vs. II Corinthians 8:24
How did Paul come to the conclusion of
verse 24?
7. Love is an Action Word
1 John 3:17-18
But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth
his brother have need, and shutteth up his
bowels of compassion from him, how
dwelleth the love of God in him?
My little children, let us not love in word,
neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
1 John 3:16
16 Hereby perceive we the love of God,
because he laid down his life for us: and we
ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
8. Love is an Action Word
John’s analogy is that God sent His
greatest treasure from heaven to earth
to show His love for mankind.
In turn, mankind should be willing to give
of their early treasure to show their
love for God.
Do not miss the point: God’s love for us
was verified by the gift of His Son, and
our love to Him is verified by our
monetary gifts. If we do not give
liberally, cheerfully, and scripturally,
God says you do not love Him.
9. Objection!
God does not need our money to know if we love
Him!
You are correct. God already know what is in our
hearts.
Why did God need Abraham to sacrifice his son
Isaac to prove Abraham’s faithfulness?
Why did God ask Adam where he was hiding?
To whom are we proving our love?
We need to know that we love God and our
giving is the measuring stick as in all
relationships.
10. Giving is for our Benefit not Gods
Philippians 4:15-17
11. John 3:16
For God so LOVED the world that He
GAVE His only begotton Son…
There may be those who dislike lessons
on giving but they never tire of hearing
what God has given them.
Giving is a part of God’s glorious nature.
Through His word, He has explained
that a person’s gift is a proof of his love
for God.
