The process of great transformation of the global energy system according to the concept of “smart grid” involves the direct collaboration of household appliances, in particular white goods, which, to this purpose, are becoming "smart" and are able to exchange information with digital power meters through suitable communication infrastructures. But, unfortunately, there still are objective problems relating to connectivity that hinder the rapid spread of these products. Wr@p technology, which Indesit has decided to liberalize through a new family of microcontrollers (RX200 family, 32 bit dedicated to smart appliances) of Renesas (Japan), has the aim to completely solve these problems. After signing a free licence agreement between Indesit Company and Renesas (29 March 2010), Wr@p technology (also known as "power modulation") can be freely used by manufacturers of household appliances without paying any royalties to Indesit.

This paper discusses a novel “proxy” approach, aimed at connecting digital appliances to a home network and based on ultra low cost, narrow band power-line transmission (ULP). Bidirectional point-to-point communication is carried out on power-supply wire between the appliance itself and the outlet. Here a dedicated device embeds both network management functions and ULP communication, acting as a proxy between the appliance and the home network. Through this approach, white goods and any other electrical household appliance can be connected to the home network at extremely low communication cost and without issues related to standard protocol selection. In this summary, after a brief introduction, the network structure is presented. Next, physical layer of ULP protocol is discussed and a prototypal HW implementation is presented. Finally, experimental ULP performances are discussed and conclusions are drawn. (Presented at ISPLC 2005)

This paper presents a detailed analysis of Wr@p technology (Web Ready Appliances Protocol, also known as Power Modulation), an ultra-low-cost powerline communication solution devoted to the electrical appliance market. Wr@p technology is aimed at adding communication capability to a household appliance without affecting its industrial cost, thus speeding up the diffusion of “smart” appliances interacting with the power distribution grid and contributing to the smart grid paradigm. A Wr@p transceiver establishes a narrow-band powerline communication exploiting the “last meter”, i.e. the power supply cord between the appliance and the outlet, where a proxy device, the smart adapter (SA), flexibly deals with standard home networking solutions. At the appliance side, such an approach allows for (i) connectivity at negligible cost and, (ii) keeps hardware and software virtually independent from the actual home networking protocol (since different configurations of the smart adapter take care of it). In this work, after recalling the basics of Wr@p point-to-point communication, an extension to the multipoint-to-point scenario is introduced. Design of silicon implementations integrated into commercial microcontroller architectures are presented and the results of extensive test of fabricated devices under actual operating conditions are detailed. Moreover, we present a complete Wr@p development solution, featuring wireless networks integration.

This paper discusses the development of a low-cost, narrow-band transmission system, aimed at connecting digital appliances to a home network. The proposed approach is based on powerline communication (ULP: Ultra Low-cost Powerline), carried out on the power-supply wire between the appliance and the outlet. Through ULP, appliance can communicate with a transceiver node located at the outlet, the “smart adapter”, which, in turn, can flexibly route messages toward external control devices (e.g., for diagnostic purposes) or, more generally, toward a home control network. At the appliance side, such an approach allows for connectivity at extremely low costs, at the same time keeping independent of the actual home control network protocol (since different configurations of the smart adapter take care of it). To make practical their implementation on a variety of digital appliances, ULP communication functions have been implemented in a dedicated hardware device, conceived as a dedicated peripheral for a general-purpose microcontroller. In this work, details on the peripheral architecture and its implementation are given. A prototype of the peripheral has been developed, based on a FPGA board directly connected to the microprocessor bus. This closely emulates the perspective microcontroller architecture, and allowed for extensive testing of the device under realistic operating conditions.

孝順需要被教育

教導孩子回報我們給予的愛,跟我們愛他同樣的重要。

這兩天,兩個孩子輪番生病, 兒子高燒不退,半夜我抱著他 滾燙的身體、看著他火紅的面頰,
即使知道沒有什麼大礙, 做媽媽的總是擔憂、睡不好覺。

下午載女兒出門溜冰,我有感而發的問她: 「媽媽照顧你們好辛苦喔!你將來會不會孝順我?」 女兒傻呼呼的問:「什麼是孝順?」
我說:「就是對我好、愛我啊!」

女兒很天真的從後座探頭對我說: 「會啊!我會孝順你!我將來賺的錢都會給你!」 (因為阿嬤常常問他們,將來賺錢會不會給阿嬤?
所以女兒馬上這樣回答。)

我笑著說:「媽媽不用妳給我很多錢啦!但是媽媽現在每天這樣 很辛苦的載妳去上課、去玩,將來我老了,走不動了,
我希望妳也要記得每天來看我、載我去玩、陪我去看病。妳會嗎?」

七歲的女兒馬上接口:「我會啊!我長大以後還是要跟妳 住在一起,每天都會看妳啦!」 接著皺起眉:「可是我沒辦法帶妳出去玩耶!」
「為什麼呢?」我問。 「因為我不會開車、又不認得路啊!」真是可愛的回答。 我忍不住親親她粉嫩的臉頰。

之前收過網路上轉寄的一篇文章,大意是一位堅強的女性, 為丈夫、兒女付出,自己得了癌症, 卻總是拒絕孩子與另一半的照顧,凡事自己來。
她的好友勸她,要練習讓丈夫、孩子來照顧她, 因為,愛是要「教」的。

昨天,剛好又看到孫協志母親的部落格,看到一手帶大孩子的她,抱怨孩子不孝、不理她, 雖然孩子為她買房、買車,她卻署名「孤姥」,兩個字道盡了 年老母親的寂寞。
當然,母子關係不佳有很多複雜的緣由,也不是單方的問題, 但我覺得顯然最大的問題在於,這位母親所認為的「孝」與孩子所認知的「孝」有很大的差異性。

的確,我們應該要教會孩子 怎麼樣來愛我們。

很久很久以前,有一次,我得了急性腸胃炎,晚上在浴室嘔吐不止。 我一回頭,看到四歲多的女兒,怯生生的站在我身後。 我當時本來想叫她不要管我,趕快去睡覺,後來轉念一想,
便對女兒說: 「妳有沒有看到媽媽在吐吐?妳怎麼不問我『妳怎麼了?』」 女兒很聽話的照我的話問:「媽媽,妳怎麼了?」

我對她說:「媽媽不舒服。妳可以替我拍拍背嗎?」 她馬上上前來,用她的小手拍拍我的背、還摸了摸我的臉。 我擠出微笑謝謝她:「謝謝!媽媽覺得好多了!
妳可以倒一杯水給我喝嗎?」 她很乖的立刻去倒了一杯冷水給我。

至此以後,我女兒只要看到我有什麼不對勁,一定會立刻問: 「媽媽,妳怎麼了?」 我上個月在九份不慎摔到,女兒第一時間立刻來扶我,問我:
「媽媽,妳怎麼了?會不會很痛?」 接下來的路程一邊走一邊叮嚀我: 「媽媽,這邊很滑,妳要小心喔!」令人分外感動。

同樣的,我買了好吃的東西, 也會要求她留給弟弟、我、 跟爸爸一起吃。
看多了那種媽媽把雞腿讓給孩子吃,結果孩子長大以為媽媽只愛吃雞頭的故事,我深深引以為戒。 所以,當女兒第一次一個人把她 愛吃的生魚片整盤吃光光的時候, 我狠很的責備了她。 現在,她吃什麼好料,如果盤中 剩下不多,她一定會問: 「還有人想吃嗎?」 或是:「沒人吃的話,我可以把它吃完嗎?」再也不會自私自利的 一個人吃光光。

我一直很認同人本的一個觀念,就是你花了多少時間在孩子身上, 孩子將來就會花多少時間在你身上。 你怎麼對待他,他將來就怎麼對待你。這點,從我公婆身上得到驗證。
我婆婆含辛茹苦的養大三個孩子,三個孩子對她都很孝順, 而我公公年輕時對家庭不太負責,現在老了,深怕孩子不理他, 但老實說孩子對他也真的沒有什麼感情。
15.
不過,除此之外,我覺得做父母的,也有責任把真實的狀況透露給 孩子知道。 無論妳是開心、憤怒、或是沮喪、挫折,甚至窮困、卑賤,
我覺得「掩藏」不是 一個好的教養方式。

爸爸媽媽不是完人, 我們應該學會承認我們也有錯誤、 也有無能為力的時候。
17.
我們會老、也會死,同樣的,我們付出的愛也希望獲得回報。 教導孩子回報我們給予的愛,跟我們愛他同樣的重要。 再看一遍
