3. History
Monteria is the provincial capital of Cordoba since 1952, when
it separated territorially of the department of Bolivar. The first
attempts of its foundation dating from 1759 on the banks of the
Sinu River, but its official foundation was not made until 1777.
The early town was named after its founder, Antonio de la Torre
and Miranda, with the name of St.
4. The main tourist attraction of Monteria is the first or Veinte de Julio, parallel
to the Sinu River where the largest linear park in America is, Sinu Round
avenue from which you can see the Sinu river that has inspired poets ,
painters and artists of the region.

Monteria is recognized as the national capital of livestock vaccine,
