Street names for cocaine are, All-American drug,
Aunt Nora, Barbs, Blow, Coke, Dream, Foo-foo
dust, Her, Kings habit, Peruvian lady, Snow, Tar
dust, Witch and zip.
3. How its taken
The way cocaine is taken is chewing, snorting,
mainlining, injecting and smoking. Snorting is the
process of inhaling cocaine powder through the
nostrils, where its absorbed into the bloodstream
through the nasal tissues. Injecting releases the
drug directly into the bloodstream, and heightens
the intensity of its affects. Smoking involves the
inhalation of cocaine vapor, where absorption in
the bloodstream is as rapid as injection. This drug
can also be rubbed onto mucus tissues.
5. Short/long effects
Short term effects are constricted blood vessels,
dilated pupils and increased temperature, heart
rate, and blood pressure. Long term effects from
increasingly high doses, leads to a state of
increasing irritability, restlessness and paranoia.
This may result in a full blown paranoia
psychosis, in which the individual loses touch
with reality and experience's auditory
hallucination's.
6. Origin/history
Cocaine is a crystalline alkaloid that obtains from
the leaves of the coca plant.
1.The leaves are ground up in a laboratory and
saturated with a chemical liquid that removes the
Cocaine alkaloid crystals.
2. This produces a damp whitish-grey mud-like
paste.
3. The chemical liquid must now be dried, and
removed from the cocaine crystals. It will become a
dry white powder.
7. Legal aspects
Cocaine in any form is a class A drug. Its illegal to
produce, supply or possess. Its also illegal to
allow premises to be used for the supply,
production and consumption.
