CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE
To adapt the table for varying conditions, modify the
capacity figures as follows:
1. Reduce capacity by 10% if area is heavily shaded.
2. Increase capacity by 10% for very hot area.
3. Add 600 btu/hr for each additional person if area is
occupied routinely by more than 3 people.

DCS developer will consider selecting TES system
when any of the following criteria apply:
 The maximum cooling load of the total facility or
higher than the average cooling load.
 The increasing growth of chilled water demand
during the peak hours compared to non- peak
hours.
 The electricity utility rate structure includes high
demand charges, a significant differential
between on-peak and off peak rates .
Back-up or redundant cooling capacity is desirable.
