The Journal is uploaded in the website every Friday. So Paper form and CD-ROM form of the Journal are discontinued from 01/01/2009. SPECIAL NOTICE Every effort is being taken to publish all the patent applications under section 11(A) of the Patents Act. The prodigious upsurge of industries has led to proliferating populations to cities. Normally a bus can accommodate only 73 passengers (48 sitting and 25 standing). On an average, a typical bus accommodates about 150 passengers with many travelling on the foot board. About 103 persons died out of 451 fatal accidents involving city buses in Chennai in the year 2012. Around 30 % of the overall accidents were due to foot board travelling. The effective method which we are using to control the brake cam is by integrating the use of hand brake, PE converter and solenoid valve. Here the Pressure to Electric converter converts the pressure signal from the door to electric signals and helps the solenoid valve to allow air to lock the cam when door is in open condition and vice versa. The use of this system does not alter any of the basic working of the bus. The driver can have a comfortable and pleasant driving environment. This will avoid the passengers to travel on the foot board and thereby eliminate accidents caused due to foot board travelling.
