First version of the song was recorded
at EMI Studios, Abbey Road
on 4 September 1962, with Ringo on drums.
The second version, later to appear
on the Please Please Me record,
was taped seven days later.
It featured freelance session musician Andy White
on drums, with Ringo shaking the tambourine.

4. Single version
Love Me Do was The Beatles' first UK single,
and it was released on 5 October 1962.
Initial pressings of the song featured
the original recording,
but the other was substituted in 1963.
The version generally available today
is the second one.
