Kurt Cobain wanted to form a band with Novoselic, but Novoselic did not respond to this request.
Three years after the two first met, Novoselic notified Cobain that he had finally listened to the
Fecal Matter demo Cobain had given to him , and suggested they start a group. The pair recruited
Bob McFadden on drums, but after a month the proyect fell apart.
3. NAMES OF NIRVANA
The band went through a series of names, starting with Skid Row and including Pen
Cap Chew, Bliss, and Ted Ed Fred. The group finally settled on Nirvana.
4. COBAIN’S LIFE
Cobain was born on February 20, 1967. Cobain began developing an interest in music early in
life. He began singing at the age of two years. At the age of four, he started playing the piano
and singing, and he wrote a song about a trip to a local park.
According to his parents, Cobain's life changes dramatically at the age of 9 because of their
divorce. After a year living with his mother after the divorce, Cobain moved to Montesano to
live with his father.
5. HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH COURTNEY LOVE
Courtney Love and Cobain met on January 12, 1990, in Portland‘s Satvricon nightclub.
According to True, the pair were formally introduced at an L7 and Butthole Surfers
concert in Los Angeles, U.S., in May 1991.
On February 24, 1992, a few days after the conclusion of Nirvana's “Pacific Rim" tour,
Cobain and Love were married on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.
6. HIS DEATH
Following a tour stop at Terminal Eins in Munich, Germany, on March 1, 1994, Cobain
was diagnosed with bronchitis and severe laryngitis.
On April 8, 1994, Cobain's body was discovered at his Lake Washington Blvd home by an
electrician named Gary Smith who had arrived to install a security system. A high
concentration of heroin and traces of diazepam were found in his body. The coroner's
report estimated Cobain to have died on April 5, 1994.
