2. WHO IS BETTER?
Yesterday my brother and I went to see a football game. We watched our
two favorite teams, America de cali and Atletico Nacional. It was the second
week of the season and the day was much colder than the week before. We
arrived at the stadium at 5:30 pm, which is a little earlier than usual. We were
excited because I love America de Cali and he loves the Atletico Nacional. The
seats were good, but I wanted something closer to the field. However, we sat and
enjoyed the game. Well, we
enjoyed it until we started arguing. My brother and I both think our team is better
than the other team. He always says to me that Nacional are faster, stronger, and
smarter than America. I never agree. On this day, he was wrong. America played a
lot better than Nacional. They played better. They won by 3 goals.
One thing I didn’t like was that the food and drinks were much more
expensive than other places, and tasted much worse. I was surprised that a hot
dog cost $4, which is more expensive than the $3 I pay outside the stadium. Also,
the hot dog was smaller than normal hot dogs. So I was a little sad about my
meal, but I planned to get something tastier after the game.
3. COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES.
Short adjectives:

4. ADJECTIVES
Long adjectives:
“two or more syllables” more famous, more beautiful.
Example: Scarlet Johansson is more beautiful than miss universe.
My neighbor is more handsome than Leonardo Di Caprio
Irregular adjectives:
Good – better I have a better idea.
Bad – worse Junk food is worse than sodas.
Far - farther I live farther than you.

5. USE OF LESS AND FEWER
Fewer is used for countable objects, that is anything that can be counted one by
one.
• There was less rain today than yesterday.
• There were fewer stray cats last year.
Less is used for uncountable concepts such as time and money, even though they
may involve numbers. In these cases we only use fewer when we refer to a specific
unit.
• I had less free time to complete my homework than Jim.
• The small elephant costs less than the big one.
• Sally spent fewer hours on the computer after she broke the keyboard.
• We have fewer pound coins than pennies
