A comprehensive systems of care approach is

services and supports (LTSS) for individuals with
Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
(IDD). More states are moving away from the
“one size fits all” approach for the assessment
and service planning of individuals with IDD,
and moving toward a more person-centered
and integrated care approach for the
assessment and coordination of supports and
services for individuals. This includes a
comprehensive assessment of the individual’s
physical, behavioral and social health care
needs to better understand, customize and

plan of care.
