Ezekiel was a priest who received visions from God involving symbolic acts and fantastic imagery. In his visions, Ezekiel saw winged creatures and wheels within wheels surrounded by God's glory. God commanded Ezekiel to lie on his side for 390 days as a symbolic punishment of Israel and Judah's unfaithfulness. Ezekiel witnessed Israelites worshipping idols and committing detestable acts in the temple. God vowed to punish Israelites by sword, famine and plague for their rejection of his ordinances. Ezekiel was called to be a watchman for Israel and prophesy God's words of warning, even if they refuse to listen.
