1. Overview
A. Information Chart of Accounts® (ICA) is a list of accounts which are grouped together as
a hierarchical group. ICA is as fundamentally similar to chart of accounts (COA), but used
instead for the management of information not financial data.
B. ICA describes the information governance structure of an organization. ICA is implemented on
four steps: Plan, Do, Check, Act.
2. Implementation
A. ICA Plan includes descriptions of an organization business and IT processes. The processes
are defined as a hierarchical list containing all critical processes. Each process is assigned to
the separate information account on ICA.
B. ICA Do is performed according to the plan on technology platform like SAP. Each information
account is the separate object holding specified data from internal or external data sources and
is measured and validated by specified KPI (key performance indicator) and CSF (critical
success factor).
C. ICA Check analyses past, present and future business transactions of organization utilising the
specified measurements like KPIs (key performance indicators) and CSFs (critical success
factors).
D. ICA Act is performed according to the check results to be improving the management of the
business and IT processes to enable more qualified decisions and actions based on more
accurate and qualified information.
