Background <ul><li>BSFF </li></ul><ul><ul><li>was developed by Larry Nims, trained by Roger Callahan in TFT </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>differs from other Meridian-based Psychotherapies by directly addressing the subconscious processes that establish and trigger debilitating and dysfunctional reactions </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>uses the dynamics of the subconscious mind and the meridian energy system </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>uses only one four-step algorithm for every identified problem </li></ul></ul>

Dynamics <ul><li>Every problem is sustained by its historical collection of emotional roots and the earliest decision or core belief which is its deepest cause </li></ul><ul><li>The belief (deepest cause) gives the automatic reaction (the problem) its timing, intensity, duration and purpose </li></ul><ul><li>Unresolved negative emotions from past experiences ( emotional roots) provide the subconscious mind with the energy it needs to carry out the reaction </li></ul><ul><li>BSFF neutralises the negative emotions in the root experiences and dismantles the deepest cause/core belief </li></ul>

Definitions <ul><li>Problem: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Anything that holds us back from doing and being the best that we can be or do </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Any automatic reaction that limits us in any way: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, occupationally, financially, domestically or socially </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Issue: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>specific area of functioning that includes more than one problem or aspect </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Each individual problem has its own set of emotional roots and a deepest cause </li></ul>

Start <ul><li>Establish rapport with the client </li></ul><ul><li>Take history: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Problem, emotions, beliefs </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Introduce BSFF as new procedure which can help the client </li></ul><ul><ul><li>These experimental procedures are used with excellent results for many problems </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>BSFF sets you free to have a choice about how to respond instead of just reacting, it changes your responses from obligatory to optional. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>However, since you will give up automatic reactions, you will make better choices than before </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The effects of our work together will depend greatly on how you use the methods </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>We will also eliminate your personal barriers to skillfully using the tools </li></ul></ul>

Energy Pathways & Blockages <ul><li>Client info: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The BSFF protocol can free energy pathways and eliminate emotional blockages </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>BSFF will not make anyone do anything new, nor will it remove any ability to function effectively in any way </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>It will help you get free of whatever is holding you back from being how and where you want to be </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The acronym BE SET FREE FAST is what it is designed to do, and what it does very gently and quickly </li></ul></ul>

Conscious & Subconscious Mind <ul><li>Client info </li></ul><ul><li>Conscious mind: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>limited in what it can do for us </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>needed for so many activities and can only focus on one at a time </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Subconscious mind: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>has no such limitations </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>records all of our history of experiences </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>draws on this information to answer questions </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>draws on all of our personal resources to faithfully do exactly what it is programmed to do </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>operates precisely and dependably under the rules it has been given </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>psycho-logical (literal & specific) rather than logical </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>will always prevail over our best conscious intentions </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>programmed precisely by decisions and beliefs created by the conscious mind </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. Roots & Causes <ul><li>Client info </li></ul><ul><li>Emotional roots: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>All the things that have happened to us helped create and kept adding to the problems we have. They begin to pile up from the time when we were very little. They are unresolved experiences of sadness, fear and anger, or a combination of these feelings which are locked by electromagnetic circuits to a belief system that makes us react automatically in many unhelpful ways </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Deepest cause: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The basic belief which is at the bottom of all this stuff: our attitude on life and our place in it in relation to a problem </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I‘ll never be free, The world's not a safe place, I‘m damaged goods </li></ul></ul></ul>

Muscle Testing <ul><li>Introduce Muscle Testing: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>MT provides access to information hidden in the subconscious mind </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>MT is used in BSFF as a tool for precision diagnosis of the problem we will work with </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Your muscles will test strong or weak </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Get permission to try MT with the client </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrate MT on paired statements etc. to show the subconscious is the client‘s faithful servant </li></ul>

BSFF Procedure <ul><li>Demonstrate the BSFF tapping sequence on yourself: </li></ul><ul><li>Tap gently, with either hand </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Eyebrow point (Bl-2) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I‘m eliminating all of the sadness in all of the roots and the deepest cause of all of this problem </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Under the eye (St-1) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I‘m eliminating all of the fears in all of the roots and the deepest cause of all of this problem </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Little finger (Ht-9) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I‘m eliminating all of the anger in all of the roots and the deepest cause of all of this problem </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Eyebrow point (Bl-2) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I‘m eliminating all of the emotional trauma in all of the roots and the deepest cause of all of this problem </li></ul></ul></ul>

Reversal & Resistance <ul><li>Test and Treat as needed (T & T): </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I can use this simple procedure for any problem or issue I ever choose to treat </li></ul></ul><ul><li>About 50% of clients test negative for this statement </li></ul><ul><li>Correct reversal by rubbing collarbone spot while saying three times: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I accept myself even though I have this problem </li></ul></ul><ul><li>This corrects for 25-30 minutes </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Then take them through the BSFF steps to correct this reversal permanently </li></ul></ul>

Programming the Subconscious Mind <ul><li>Tell the client: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Now I am saying this to your subconscious mind: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Whenever you are treating any problem, you are not only eliminating its emotional roots and its deepest cause, but you are also eliminating anything that would make you keep the problem, ever take it back, ever allow it to come back, or receive it back in any way, shape or form </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Test: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>My subconscious mind will do this for me from now on </li></ul></ul><ul><li>The subconscious mind always agrees to do this for the client </li></ul>

Self-Image & Self-Confidence Indicators <ul><li>T & T for self-image and self-confidence statements </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Do it in the first session, unless the client has a pressing issue which overrides this </li></ul></ul><ul><li>T & T each statement individually </li></ul><ul><li>T & T each group of statements collectively after treatment </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I'm strong in all of these areas now </li></ul></ul><ul><li>( T & T : Test & Treat as needed) </li></ul>

Self-Confidence <ul><li>Self-confidence statements (doing): </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I am good at things </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I am a capable person </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I can learn to do what I want and do it well </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I have good talents, skills and abilities </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I have a skillful mind </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I have a skillful body </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I run my life well </li></ul></ul>

Treatment <ul><li>Treat all presenting problems with the BSFF sequence, including reversals and blocks </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Establish SUDs </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Confirm with muscle test </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Tap sequence </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Establish SUDs again and establish priorities for next round </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Repeat for any problems client identifies </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Finish by treating hurt, anger, and unforgiveness </li></ul></ul>
  17. 17. Finishing Steps <ul><li>For the results to last, feelings of hurt, anger and unforgiveness must be treated </li></ul><ul><li>Test and treat for feeling hurt with normal BSFF sequence: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I’m (deeply) hurt because I have (had) these problems </li></ul></ul>

Anger <ul><li>Clients may be angry at others who offended, hurt, rejected or failed to protect them </li></ul><ul><li>Treat any anger toward anyone, for the –recurring– problem, </li></ul><ul><ul><li>other persons, the world, the universe, God, self </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Treat anger for one person at a time, preferably by name </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Use the normal BSFF sequence </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Treat anger at self: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I'm angry at myself, judge & criticize myself for having these problems and/or </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>for keeping them so long </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>for not handling them better </li></ul></ul></ul>

Forgiveness <ul><li>After treating hurt and anger, do the forgiveness procedure for all involved: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>While tapping on the little finger point, say or think three times, for one person at a time: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I forgive you (Mom, Dad, Mike, Sally, etc,), you did the best you could, or you didn’t know what you were doing </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>For God: I forgive you God/Goddess/Lord/Great Invisible Hand, I know that you are always doing the best/right thing for me </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>While tapping on the index finger, say or think three times, </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I forgive myself, I did the best I could, </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>You don’t have to believe the forgiveness statement for it to work </li></ul>

Closure <ul><li>Test at the end of every session: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I will skillfully, alertly and consistently apply everything I've learned today </li></ul></ul><ul><li>If weak, separately T & T for skillfully , alertly and consistently </li></ul><ul><li>If you find that a problem you previously treated returns, simply treat it again with these same simple steps </li></ul><ul><li>Retest self-image and self-confidence in the next session to make sure your corrections are holding </li></ul>

Ecology Check <ul><li>Ecology refers to the influence of individual elements upon a larger system </li></ul><ul><li>In a person, it refers to the effects of individual components of therapy on the whole person in her environment </li></ul><ul><li>Test the person saying: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>My subconscious mind, all parts of me, and my Spirit are completely congruent, comfortable and satisfied with this change/shift/new attitude/behaviour etc. </li></ul></ul>

Monitoring Self-Image & Self-Confidence <ul><li>Watch in later sessions for indications that self-image or self-confidence has slipped </li></ul><ul><li>Self-image is especially vulnerable to slipping if the person has a major interpersonal conflict or negative experience with someone </li></ul><ul><li>Often in such conflicts there are negative messages about one's identity </li></ul><ul><ul><li>It is easy for a person to accept such negative messages in severe stress </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>This can re-establish the entire self-image problem </li></ul></ul>

BSFF Fail-safe System <ul><li>When clients are stuck, they test weak on the following statements, which seem to operate in a hierarchy: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I want to be free of this problem </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I am willing to be free of this problem </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I am willing to be free of this problem now </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>(from now on, permanently, forever, etc.) </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I give myself permission to be free of this problem from now on </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I deserve to be permanently free of this problem </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I will do everything necessary to see to it that I am free, and remain free of this problem </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Test and treat each statement, in the sequence printed, with the BSFF algorithm </li></ul><ul><li>After treating for each of these seven problems, treat these two, more global, catch-all issues: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>There are still one or more problems that will make me keep or take back this problem </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>There is still something in me that will make me keep or take back this problem </li></ul></ul>

BSFF Fail-safe System <ul><li>You can alter these statements for specific issues, as long as the basic meaning is maintained </li></ul><ul><li>Remember that the subconscious mind is very literal, precise and specific and will test exactly according to what the words in the statement mean to it, no matter what anyone's conscious mind might think or expect them to mean </li></ul><ul><li>Clients often report feeling better after just doing these treatments, and before even treating the identified clinical problem </li></ul>

BSFF Blocks <ul><li>Also test client for limiting beliefs surrounding treatment such as: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>This therapy is effective in treating physical/emotional/mental/spiritual/social/domestic/professional problems </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>This treatment will resolve all blocks to my healing now </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Also treat yourself as the helper for your own blocks: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>This therapy is effective in treating physical /emotional/mental/spiritual/social/domestic/professional problems </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>This treatment will resolve all blocks to my healing now </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>This client is able to completely resolve this problem now </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I can help this client to completely resolve this problem now </li></ul></ul>

Instant BSFF <ul><li>In iBSFF, the following instruction are given to the subconscious mind: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Whenever I consciously notice any problem that I want to eliminate, whether or not I can identify the problem with words and I consciously think or speak the cue/trigger word or phrase_______ you will do the entire BSFF treatment sequence for me , with exactly the same results as if I were physically doing all of the tapping and verbally making each of the BSFF statements for each spot </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>You will do this from now on, for any problem I notice and decide to treat, whenever I initiate the treatment with my cue. I need only notice a problem and initiate the treatment with my thought of my cue </li></ul></ul>
