The Youth Agenda (YAA) is a premier youth organization that works towards a “just, eligible and
progressive society in which young people fully enjoy social, economic and political rights and
opportunities. This vision is grounded on belief that is possible to realize a globally competitive
and prosperous nation with a high quality of life in the near future, as envisaged by Kenya’s
vision 2030.
YAA’s core mandate is to harness and nurture young people’s personal, community and national
development through informed, innovative and value driven approaches.
The above named was a workforce at the youth agenda from 11th January 2013 – 11march 2013
as a volunteer project assistant. He was in charge of profiling the youth aspirants who vied for
elections, mobilizing youth and doing other research work. Before the above, he worked from
Jan 2011 to June 2011 working as an office assistant. He worked with other program staff to
facilitate the successful execution of project activities where he worked to procure venues, write
reports, coordinate activities and take care of correspondence. He handed mobilization of
workshop attendees and coordinated logistics for launches, workshops and other events. He also
worked with the communication team to create, collect data and update/maintain the
organization database and social networking sites.
Ian works well with diverse groups and deliver under pressure with minimal supervision. He has
excellent interpersonal skills evidenced by his capacity to handle the organizations dynamic
engagements with ease and skill. He is effective, efficient and reliable – qualities that have seen
him contribute significantly to the realization of transformative leadership, good governance as
well as effective citizen participation in governance and development processes in Kenya.
It is my pleasure to recommend Mr. Ian Munene for any challenging task that will make optimal
use of the skills and knowledge gained. I believe in him and know that he will deliver beyond
expectations.
