WORKLOAD BACKUP
Continuous full-server backup and recovery from Double-Take® Software
All workloads are not created equal. Some applications and data are vital and constant access is
not negotiable, others are less important and don’t require high-availability. Regardless of your
needs, now there is one choice for both scenarios and everything in between. Workload backup
products from Double-Take® Software enable continuous full-server backup, hardware-
independent on-demand restoration and any-point-in-time recovery options that are just right for
your business.
Continuous Full-server Replication
The Double-Take® workload backup suite provides continuous data repli-
cation over any distance so you always have access to a current copy of
your data, applications and OS. Livewire™ from Double-Take® Software
reduces costs by simplifying the protection and recovery of important
systems. Livewire continuously replicates changes to data, applications and
the source server’s operating system, protecting the entire server. When it’s
time to recover, Livewire allows you to configure and perform recoveries on-
demand, to physically dissimilar hardware or virtual servers, with added
validation steps to make sure recovery will go as planned.
Fast, Flexible, On-demand Recovery
When a system volume or entire server fails, recovery of both system state
and data can be performed from the Livewire Management Console. This
reduces the number of steps and time needed to recover a server to its
original state, improving achievable recovery time objectives (RTO). The
Livewire Management Console also push-installs the Livewire agent to the
recovery server if necessary, eliminating the need to have Livewire pre-
installed on the recovery server. The recovery process can account for a
variety of differences between the original source and recovery server,
prohibit incompatible differences, and warn the user of possible
performance degradations after recovery. Livewire replicates and can
recover between any configuration of physical and virtual systems.
Streamlined Branch and Remote Office Backup
You don't have to rely on a costly and complex approach to branch office
data protection. With proven technologies like Livewire™ and TimeData™
you can reliably and cost-effectively back up branch office data from a
central location, in real-time to disk. Because both products are designed to
be WAN-friendly, they are ideal for remote office and branch office backup
scenarios. By replicating data to a central location, you can eliminate the
need to do backups in the field and recover data more quickly.
Any-Point-in-Time Recovery
TimeData is a Windows-based, cluster-aware application that protects files
on NTFS volumes, SQL Server® databases and Exchange Server mailbox
stores. TimeData software provides file-based Continuous Data Protection
(CDP) with point-in-time data recover technology.
TimeData integrates into existing backup environments to provide complete
protection against data corruption or unwanted changes. As changes to
data occur, these events are continuously captured and stored in a time-
dimensioned repository. This continuous capture and full change history
ensures that the entire data lifecycle is available for retrieval.
Recovery with TimeData is fast and intuitive at any granularity - whole
system, entire databases or single documents. Unlike tape-based backup,
there are no protection gaps, no scheduling requirements, no backup-
related system slowdowns and no backup windows for administrators to
manage.
