This document outlines the overall security services provided by Gaitano Security & Investigation Services Inc. It describes the four main components of a comprehensive security program: personnel security to screen new hires, physical security using guards and barriers, communication/document security to protect proprietary information, and operational security to monitor company operations. The purpose of security is to maintain peace and order, protect the status quo, and allow companies to operate without disruption. Modern security also utilizes technology like CCTV and cooperates with law enforcement.

OVERALL SECURITY SERVICES
Security is a state or condition of being free from external threat by criminal
elements and from infiltration and acts of sabotage by internal forces whose
objective is to neutralize or destroy the facility or installation. There are of course
other more elaborate description of security. For our purposes, however, suffice it
to say that the main goal of security, as perhaps some may agree, is the
maintenance of peace and order, the protection of the status quo and the
unhindered effort to succeed in whatever endeavor or operation an individual or
company of individuals may be engaged in.
Security can be loose or tight, lax or strict depending on the situation
prevailing in the area or in the future. Security must anticipate and be good at
predicting future events by accurate reading and analysis of current indicators
coming in different forms and sizes.
Security in its complete makeup must have the four components actively
functioning as hereunder enumerated and defined:
A. Personnel Security
This department, in a good size company, has the responsibility of determining
the qualification and suitability of all employees prior to their employment. It
focuses particularly on the character of the individual – cultural background and
ideological persuasions – and is charged with the conduct of background
investigation, etc. Future acts of disloyalty, treachery or even sabotage could
effectively be prevented as a result of efficient security screening.
B. Physical Security
Known as physical barriers, they comprise the blue uniformed security guards, the
walls, doors, windows, lighting system, alarms, dogs and all sorts of visible
blockades to prevent the entry of unauthorized persons or things. Issuance of ID
cards to visitors, gate passes for things being brought out and enforcement of
rules and regulations, etc. within the company compound. Its purpose is to
prevent disruption or work and disorder, and is in close contact and coordination
with the local police and other law enforcement agencies.
C. Communication/Document Security
This component takes care of proprietary information and is staffed with highly
trustworthy and loyal personnel. They see to it that documents are properly
classified, handled and stored including its declassification and destruction.
Securing of the trade secrets, plans and strategy is their main responsibility
including the clearing and securing of the lines
of communication. Documents are usually classified into Restricted, Confidential,
Secret and Top Secret, and personnel likewise are cleared before they are
allowed access to these information.
2. D. Operational Security
Company operation from start to finish is the main security responsibility of this
department. It oversees company operation from area of operation, personnel
performance, delivery route, vehicles and equipment and delivery destination point
for any causes of delay, breakdown, hi-jacking possibility, pilferage of fuel or oil or
any illegal crew activity, etc. Its main objective is to effect a smooth and
unhindered movement of personnel, equipment and materials.
Security may be complete in form and substance, yet to be really efficient it
needs the support of technology such as – the aid of close circuit TV equipment,
bugging and eavesdropping tools and cooperation of other friendly intelligence and
security agencies. There is of course the regular training and seminars to upgrade
the personnel’s knowledge on the latest techniques and modus operandi of the
enemy and criminal elements. It is imperative that people in this business must
always be on top the situation and on the know.
Security must be tailored to the need of the facility or installation and
flexible enough to face the challenge of a rapidly changing world situation. It
behooves therefore security personnel to be morally upright and physically fit at all
times
