Visualizations can reveal patterns, prompts, and important stories that would otherwise be overlooked in temporal data. A specific application of visual approaches to help in the analysis of temporal event data from multiple records of trauma patients at Children's National Medical Center in DC demonstrated the ability to visualize data from different perspectives and uncover anomalies that may have been missed. Small multiples and line graphs work extraordinarily well and deserve their due for their simplicity, precision, and power to represent interval-level relationships.
